In today’s tough market, selling a home particularly one in the pre-foreclosure stage can be very challenging. Considering the millions of foreclosure homes for sale, sellers should find a way to make their homes stand out in the market.

One sure way of doing this is by changing your wallpaper or re-painting your walls. True, the present wallpaper or colors may be perfect for you but you should consider what the buyer would prefer. In the first place, if you have been staying there for a long time, chances are your wallpaper and color schemes will be outdated.

Since stripping you wallpaper would take longer, some experts have advises that you paint over it. Of course, you must prime it first using oil-based primer. This way, the wall paper will not peel. Also, you mist remember to remove paintings and photos so that you could paint the walls in an even manner.

If you have a tight budget, there is actually no need to paint your home’s exterior and interior. You should instead focus on critical areas such as doors, roof and gate. Wallpapers can always be cleaned by wiping them with dry cloth and the outside wall can be pressure-washed to remove the dirt. Stained ceilings can be cleaned by squirting it with a solution of bleach and water.

To start with your painting project, you must try to look at your home with a critical eye in order to determine the critical areas that need work. Then, check your budget so that you can make the improvement without breaking the bank. If you come up short, look for alternative options that could help you reach your goal.

With a newly-painted home, you are sure to attract more buyers than your competitors. Do not be surprised if buyers come knocking at your door one after the other.
