In an effort to lower the number of foreclosure home auctions for sale and distressed properties in Michigan, a number of forums and workshops will be held at the Henry Ford Centennial Library Mezzanine Conference Room from September 9 to October 21 in Dearborn.
For owners of foreclosed homes in Wayne, MI and homeowners from other areas of the state, the event will serve as an opportunity to get educated about foreclosures. It will also offer financial counseling, to be handled by HUD home counselors, to those who are facing potential foreclosures.
The event is being held to address the issue of foreclosed homes in Michigan. It was launched by the Dearborn Public Library in cooperation with the Wayne County Fight Mortgage Foreclosure Program. The lectures and counseling services will be provided for free and are primarily aimed at homeowners who are suffering from mortgage delinquencies and possible foreclosures.
People who are interested in buying foreclosed homes for sale are also welcome to listen and attend the workshops, particularly those who are interested in knowing more about the current status of the housing market in the area and learn about the pros and cons of purchasing or selling foreclosed dwellings.
With the area suffering from big numbers of foreclosure home auctions for sale, organizers of the event are hoping that the workshops will be able to provide assistance and knowledge to homeowners and borrowers who wish to keep their properties. Counselors associated with the Wayne County Foreclosure Prevention initiative are instructed to help attendees understand the options open to them in terms of keeping their properties out of foreclosure.
They will also receive information on how to work with lenders and banks to come up with alternatives to foreclosures and how the federal government program, Making Home Affordable works and whether it is suitable to a homeowner's situation. The workshops will also touch upon the issue of the state's three-month mediation law which offers borrowers a chance to negotiate a better deal with lenders.
Organizers of the event have assured the public that the counselors who will participate in the event are all certified and have the necessary knowledge to help owners who are facing problems related to foreclosure home auctions for sale and distressed properties.
